UPESSC Principal (Inter Level) 2026 Selection Process & Written Exam Pattern
Total Selection Marks: 400 Marks in total, consisting of a 360-mark Written Examination (120 objective questions) and a 40-mark Interview.
Tie-Breaking Criteria:
If candidates secure equal merit, marks obtained in the written examination will be evaluated first.
If written scores are identical, interview marks will be reviewed.
If interview marks are also the same, the higher percentage in Post-Graduation will be considered.
If Post-Graduation percentages match, the percentage in B.Ed. will be checked.
If all scores and academic percentages are identical, the candidate who is older in age will be placed higher on the merit list.
Exam Duration: The total duration of the written test is 2 hours.
Question Type & Guidelines: All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options. Candidates must use a black ballpoint pen to darken the correct bubble on the answer sheet.
Medium of Exam: The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English (excluding language-specific subjects).
Marking Scheme & Negative Marking:
Each correct answer awards +3 marks.
Each incorrect or multiple-marked answer incurs a penalty of -1 mark (Negative Marking).
Cut-Off Declaration: Cut-off marks and individual candidate scores will be displayed on the official website after the selection process is complete.
