UPESSC PGT 2026 Selection Process & Written Exam Pattern

• Total Marks & Selection Scheme:

  • Selection for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT / Lecturer) in Aided Non-Government Schools (Boys / Girls) will be based on a merit list out of 400 Total Marks (360 Marks for Written Exam + 40 Marks for Interview).

• Written Exam Overview:

  • Question Paper Distribution: Out of 120 total questions, 30 questions will be based on General Knowledge (GK) and 90 questions will be based on the Related Subject.

  • Total Marks: 360 Marks.

  • Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes).

  • Question Type: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 4 options each.

  • Marking Scheme: +3 Marks for every correct answer.

  • Negative Marking: 1 Mark deducted for every wrong or multiple-choice answer.

  • OMR Instructions: Answers must be marked on the OMR sheet using a black ballpoint pen.

• Interview Round:

  • Total Interview Marks: 40 Marks.

• Tie-Breaking Criteria (In Case of Equal Overall Marks):

  1. Higher marks obtained in the Written Examination.

  2. Higher marks obtained in the Interview.

  3. Higher percentage in Post Graduation (Master's Degree).

  4. Higher percentage in Teacher Training Qualification (B.Ed.).

  5. Older candidate in age.

• Result Declaration:

  • Final cut-off marks and candidate scores will be updated on the official website after the completion of the recruitment process.

• Pay Scale: -Rs. 47,600 – 1,51,100 Pay Level 8
• Selection Process: Selection on the Basis of Written Exam, Interview & Merit List.
